  • Current dietary fiber recommendations - suggest that adults consume 20-35 grams of dietary fiber per day, but the average American's daily intake of dietary fiber is only 14-15 grams.
  • Diet pills - generally stimulant medications available without a prescription and taken for the purpose of weight loss.
  • Body for Life diet - six meals a day, each of which consists of a portion of a lean protein-rich food, a portion of an unrefined carbohydrate-rich food and a portion of a vegetable.
